Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions we hear most.

Can RepOcean delete bad reviews?

No. Only Google can remove a review, and only if it breaks Google’s rules (for example spam or a fake review). The best response to a bad review is a calm, helpful reply, which future customers will read.

Are replies posted on Google?

Yes. When you post a reply in RepOcean it appears publicly under the review on Google, just as if you’d replied on Google itself.

Does RepOcean post anything without asking me?

Only if you choose so: automatic AI replies (for ratings you pick), scheduled Google posts and automatic review requests. All are off until you switch them on.

Can I ask for reviews in exchange for a discount?

No. Google doesn’t allow any reward for reviews. See Google’s rules.

Do customers need an account to leave a review?

They need to be signed in to Google, which most phone users already are. Your review link takes them straight to the review box.

Can I manage several businesses?

Yes. Add as many locations as you need, switch between them on the dashboard and other pages, and invite people with access to only some of them.

I’m an agency. Can clients see my brand instead of RepOcean?

Yes. See Your own brand. You can also invite clients as Viewers and connect their Google accounts without their password using Ask a customer to connect.

Is my data safe?

Connections to Google are stored encrypted. You can turn on two-step sign-in, see who did what in the activity log, and download or delete your data at any time.

Is there a phone app?

RepOcean works in your phone’s browser, and you can add it to your home screen to use it like an app and get notifications. See phone alerts.
